SPRING 2025
GOOD NEWS FOR ALL UUs IN THE PACIFIC WESTERN REGION WHO IDENTIFY AS WOMEN
Friday March 7- Sun March 9, 2025 is the annual UU Women and Religion spring retreat!
We return to Enchanted Hills in the redwoods west of Napa, CA—now completely renovated and more enchanting than ever— for this annual event, formerly limited to women in the Pacific Central District. The 2025 theme is “Resilience: finding joy and purpose in challenging times. “Joy” workshops could include music, art and dance; nature walks through the redwoods, a joyful book group, and other attendee offerings. Resilience through purpose workshops will coalesce after the November election but could focus on twenty-first century feminism, climate change, aging, and how we will weather the future.
Scholarships may be available but it depends on sign-ups.
Costs may rise after we make our minimum and spaces will fill so don't delay! We hope to see you in March.
Enchanted Hills near Napa, California was home for spring retreats for the UU women of the Pacific Central District for at least two decades, until the disastrous fire that destroyed the lower half of the camp. Most of the redwoods survived and are more beautiful than ever. "Resilience" was selected as a theme for this years retreat partly in recognition of Enchanted Hill's rise from the ashes.
Enchanted Hills has since been completely renovated and will eventually function as a full service, glamorous retreat center during the times that it is not housing camps for the visually-impaired, its central function. EH has always served delicious food with vegetarian and vegan options, and fortunately they still have their same visually-impaired chef!
Housing, all newly renovated, consists of twin beds (linens supplied) with 2-4 to a room. Baths can be ensuite or down the hall. There are no single rooms and few two bed rooms. Most are fully wheelchair-accessible.
UU Women and Religion was brought into being at the 1977 UU General Assembly, focusing on ending patriarchy in our denomination. Who May Attend: All our W&R retreats are open only to those who identify as women. Husbands who identify as men and children, though beloved and supportive, must remain at home.
