Dear Women & Religion Retreat Participants:

The planners of the Women and Religion annual retreat at Enchanted Hills Camp have decided to cancel our retreat for this year ONLY. We have reserved the EHC facility for March 8-11, 2018, and will continue our annual retreat, with all its wonderful women, workshops, activities, camaraderie and meals next year.

Here’s why we have chosen to cancel. First, while we can’t blame the recent presidential election for all our ills (tempting though it might be), it definitely took the wind out of my sails and perhaps yours as well. So the planning for the retreat was late in getting started. Second, many of us are attending the International Women’s Convocation at Asilomar next month. We pushed our W&R Retreat back a week to alleviate “retreat fatigue” but it doesn’t seem to be enough. Many of us have to allocate time and resources carefully, and affording both the Convo and the retreat is difficult. The Convo occurs every 3 or 4 years, and may not return to California for some time. Our Retreat, however, is an ANNUAL event (with this exception) and will continue in 2018 and beyond.

Please put March 8-11, 2018, on your calendars and plan to attend our Women and Religion Retreat. This retreat is a function of Women and Religion PCD, part of the Pacific Northwest Region of the Unitarian Universalist Association. The theme of our retreat next year will be “Sharing Light” and our website will be updated soon to reflect this change. Thank you for your support of our Retreat. We hope to see you back at Enchanted Hills Camp in Napa in 2018.

If you are interested in attending the Third International Women’s Convocation, registration is still open for the event, which runs from February 16-19, Thursday to Sunday, at Asilomar in Monterey.

Sincerely,
Beverly Morgan
W&R Retreat Registrar
